Cairo was icing on the cake to this entire trip. It took some work getting there though. My roommate and I ended up riding the inaugural flight on Aegean Air from Athens to Cairo, but to make that flight we stayed in the Athens airport for an 10 hour layover. We were extremely thankful for the cleanliness of the airport. I was amazed that everything stayed open the entire evening. We arrived around 10 pm and left around 9 am and could have done some shopping at 4 am if we wanted to. We were so thankful for a shower and bed when we eventually got to our hotel in Cairo. For being a five star hotel in a very cheap country, internet was so expensive. It was really frustrating trying to do anything with technology there. We crammed so much in each day that it went by in a blur. Actually, I think it was more of the impact of everything we were seeing and not that there was an extreme increase of places we visited.
